Back in 2009, Jon Cogburn (of philpercs fame) and Mikhail Emelianov (of Perverse Egalitariansim) started a public reading group on Lee Braver's A Thing of this World. A few more blog-based reading groups followed.
Following their post-trail, I'm very pleased to announce that philpercs will host a reading group on David Roden's Posthuman Life. In one week's time (July 8), I'll post comments on the first two section of the book covering the Introduction ("Churchland's Centipede") and Chapter One ("Humanism, transhumanism and posthumanism"). Readings found here.
Together, this is not a lot of material--in the interest of encouraging participation without overwhelming the already overwhelmed (or vacationing). Feel free to comment and otherwise join in in whatever manner seems right. David Roden has kindly agreed to participate and, as time allows, may guest post.
